WARRIOR WOMEN RANKED NO. 6 IN FIRST USTFCCCA POLL

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad checked in at No. 6 in the initial United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National TFRI ratings, tied for the team's second-highest ranking in school history.

The Warriors, who are also ranked No. 3 in the first USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings, earned 169.00 team points in the first release of the official national rankings of the 2025 season. The Warriors are ranked No. 2 nationally in both the 60m and 200m dash events.

Through six competitions in the early goings of the 2024-25 season, the Warriors have posted five school records and nine all-time top-five performances in school history.

INDIAN HILLS WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD RECORD BOOK

Indian Hills has been led by a series of impressive performances in the 60m dash, including freshman Avia Lane's (Nashville, TN/Beech) top time of 7.60 and sophomore Destiny Mitchell's (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Riverside) mark of 7.62, the No. 4 and No. 5 times in school history. The duo currently rank among the top-12 fastest individuals in the event this year.

With an average mark of 24.99 on the year, the Warriors rank second in the nation in the 200m event, led by sophomore Kenyatta Grate's time of 24.68 set at the Nebraska Graduate Classic on January 18. Nyla Norman (Evansdale, IA/Waterloo East), Zekira Snow (Brandon, FL/Bloomingdale), and Laurie Louis (Miami, FL/North Miami) round out the top-four in the event for the Warriors.

Sophomore Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) currently boasts the top mark in the nation in the women's 60m hurdle event with a school record time of 8.49 set at the Iowa State Holiday Invite. Nave has posted four of the top-seven marks in the nation this year.

Indian Hills has also seen three school records fall by freshman Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe). Koonce, who owns school records in the mile (5:20.43), 3,000m (10:43.38), and 5,000m (19:19.20) has posted a school record in each of her first five races to start the 2024-25 campaign.

The Warriors have now been ranked in the top-10 in the national indoor ratings 14 times since the 2021 season. Indian Hills was ranked as high as No. 6 during the 2024 season while the team's highest national rank of No. 4 was set in 2022.

The Warriors return to action January 31 - February 1 at the Washburn Open in Topeka, KS.
