Storm Lake, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad took home a third-place finish at the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Buena Vista University.
As a program, the Warriors took home three event championships, including a pair of individual titles. Sophomore Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) captured the women's 60-meter hurdles title while sophomore Laurie Louis (Miami, FL/North Miami) earned top honors in the 400m dash. Both Nave and Louis teamed up with Nyla Norman (Evansdale, IA/Waterloo East) and Alexa Zanders (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo West) to lead the Warriors to the 4x400m relay championship.
Nave's record-breaking season continued as the All-American ran to a first-place finish in the 60m hurdle with a time of 8.57. Nave, who captured the 2024 outdoor region title in the 100m hurdles, becomes just the second individual in school history to win to region hurdle championships in their career, and first since Tyarra English-Paulson in 2019.
Nave currently owns five of the 13 fastest 60m hurdle marks in the nation this year.
Louis put together a career performance in the women's 400m dash as the sophomore claimed the top spot on the podium with a time of 58.01. Louis' mark, when converted to an oversized track (57.25), would currently sit as the second-fastest mark in school history.
The relay quartet of Norman, Louis, Zanders, and Nave cruised to a championship performance in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:56.92, more than five seconds ahead of second-place finisher Iowa Central Community College.
The Warriors have now captured back-to-back indoor 4x400m relay titles and have claimed a total of five 4x400m relay championships between the indoor and outdoor seasons since 2021.
Destiny Mitchell (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Riverside) took home a runner-up finish in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.58. Zekira Snow (Brandon, FL/Bloomingdale) and Avia Lane (Nashville, TN/Beech) placed third and fourth overall in the event, respectively to score for the Warriors.
Norman posted a strong showing in the 200m dash with a fourth-place finish with Zanders earned a runner-up finish behind Louis in the 400m dash as the Warriors placed third individuals in the top-five in the event.
Sophomore Arianna Johnson (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) placed third overall in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.50m to earn a spot on the podium.
Freshman Riley Vogel (Festus, MO/Festus) posted a personal-best performance in the women's 5,000m run, finishing sixth overall with a time of 21:41.14, fifth-best in school history.
Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) took home a top-five finish in the women's mile with a mark of 5:25.70. Fellow freshman Cynthia Albert (Eldon, IA/Cardinal) placed fourth overall in the women's weight throw with a distance of 12.88m.
