Emporia, KS – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field squad opened up the 2025 outdoor campaign at the Emporia State Relays over the weekend in Emporia, KS. The Warriors saw 10 individuals earn top-10 finishes in their respective events.
Sophomore All-American Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) led the charge with a third-place showing in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Nave broke her own school record in the season opener with a time of 13.76, the No. 2 mark in the nation so far this year. Nave dropped .06 off of her previous school record to finish as the top junior college finisher at the event.
Nave doubled up with a fourth-place finish in the women's 400m hurdles, posting the seventh-best time in the nation this year with a mark of 1:04.72.
The women's 4x100m relay squad of Kenyatta Grate (British, Virgin Islands/Elmore Stout), Destiny Mitchell (Milwaukee, WI/Milwaukee Riverside), Nyla Norman (Evansdale, IA/Waterloo East), and Zekira Snow (Brandon, FL/Bloomingdale) took home a fourth-place finish with a time of 46:06, just .65 off of the previous school record set in 2023. The quartet's mark ranks as the No. 4 time in the nation this year.
Nyla Blackmon (Memphis, TN/Southwind) posted a sixth-place finish in the women's 400m dash with a time of 56.67. Blackmon also added an eighth-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 24.22.
Sophomore All-American Arriana Johnson (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) posted a seventh-place finish in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.55m, a new personal-best performance and the No. 6 mark in the nation this year. Johnson also placed ninth overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.63.
Freshman Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) ran the fourth-fastest 1,500m run time in school history, placing ninth overall with a time of 5:03.79.
The Warriors are back in action April 4 at the Midwest Classic in Emporia, KS.
