Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) of the Indian Hills Women's Track & Field Team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Nave lands her third ICCAC Athlete of the Week honor, and first of the outdoor season after leading the Warriors at the Emporia State Relays.
Following an All-American performance during the indoor national championships, Nave opened up her outdoor campaign with two impressive showings in Emporia, KS. Nave led the charge with a third-place showing in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Nave broke her own school record in the season opener with a time of 13.76, the No. 2 mark in the nation so far this year. Nave dropped .06 off of her previous school record to finish as the top junior college finisher at the event.
Nave doubled up with a fourth-place finish in the women's 400m hurdles, posting the seventh-best time in the nation this year with a mark of 1:04.72. The time ranks second all-time in school history. The sophomore now ranks in the top-five in school history in five separate categories.
The Warriors are back in action April 4 at the Midwest Classic in Emporia, KS.
