WARRIORS PLACE 10TH IN NATYCAA CUP STANDINGS

Ottumwa, IA – For the third consecutive year, the Indian Hills Athletic Department cracked the top-10 in the year-end National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Daktronics Cup standings. As a department, the Warriors placed 10th overall.

The Warriors earned a program-record 112.5 team points, surpassing the previous program-high of 110.0 points set in 2022-23. The Warriors have now placed 10th, 7th, and 6th in consecutive years, respectively to earn three-straight top-10 finishes for the first time in school history.

The standings are comprised of teams throughout the NJCAA who classify within the scholarship ranks. Teams are awarded points based off team finishes at national competitions and championships. Teams that win the national title in their respective sport are awarded 20 points, while runner-up finishes earn 19 points, third-place finishes receive 18 points, etc. Each school is eligible to use their top five finishes per gender at their highest level of competition.

The Warriors saw another historic year across the board as the department brought home two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championships with both the men's and women's wrestling programs bringing home top honors. Indian Hills has now produced at least two team national titles in three consecutive years.

15 different programs competed at their respective national tournaments, with seven teams placing inside the top-10. Along with the national titles from the wrestling programs, the first-ever for the men and fifth consecutive for the women, the men's golf squad placed third overall while the men's indoor and outdoor track & field teams placed fourth at both national championships. The men's soccer squad made a historic run to the semifinals of the national championship to place fourth overall, it's highest finish in school history.

The volleyball team captured a third consecutive top-10 finish at the national championship while the women's golf program, in its inaugural year, placed 14th overall at the national championship.

The NATYCAA Cup Standings were created in 2004 and have recognized teams each year with the exception of the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons due to COVID-19. The NATYCAA Cup Standings host divisions for the NJCAA Scholarship, NJCAA Non-Scholarship, and the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A).
