After an all-conference career at Ottumwa High School, Cassie had an outstanding two years at Indian Hills, both in the pitcher’s circle and at the plate. She posted a pitching record of 27-6 with a 1.43 ERA as a freshman and followed that up with a 20-1 mark and a 1.19 ERA the next year. She had a two-year total of 283 strikeouts while being named an Academic All-American both years. The left-handed pitcher was named to the all-region first team in each season and was a third-team All-American as a sophomore. Cassie hit .464 with 15 doubles, three home runs, 35 RBIs and a .798 slugging percentage her freshman campaign, then batted .381 with 13 doubles, five triples, three homers, and 56 RBIs as a sophomore. She is 2nd in complete games, tied for 2nd in games started, 3rd in innings pitched and 4th in wins in the single-season pitching lists, and 2nd in complete games, 4th in wins and 5th in both appearances and shutouts all-time for the Warriors. Continuing her education and career at Drake University, Cassie won 17 games for the Bulldogs over two seasons of softball at Drake.
