Des Moines, IA – The No. 4 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf squad placed 14th overall at the 2024 Zach Johnson Invitational on Tuesday, finishing the 54-hole event 41-over par.
Competing as the lone junior college program in the event, the Warriors produced round scores of 298-293-302-893 as just one team in the field, Iowa State University, finished below par.
Taking on the challenging Glen Oaks Country Club course, the Warriors were led by freshman Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) who tied for 27th overall after opening up the event with back-to-back rounds of 1-under, 70. Roth tallied eight birdies over the course of the three rounds in his first collegiate appearance.
Sophomore Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico) tied for 36th overall after finishing with an 8-over, 221. Lamas led the Warriors, along with teammate Jedd Thomas (Sydney, Australia/St. Paul's Catholic) with a team-high nine birdies. Thomas finished as the third lowest score for the Warriors and tied for 45th overall.
Indian Hills is back in action on Monday, September 30 for the Tommie Invitational in Stillwater, MN.
