Stillwater, MN – The No. 4 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf squad placed fifth overall at the Tommie Invitational on Tuesday, finishing with a 33-over, 897. The Warriors were led by freshman Jedd Thomas (Sydney, Australia/St. Paul's Catholic) who placed eighth overall.
Competing as the lone junior college team at Stoneridge Golf Course, the Warriors posted round scores of 295-300-302 to tie with Omaha University in fifth place.
Thomas posted his second top-10 finish of the year after leading the Warriors with a 5-over, 221. Thomas finished the two-day, 54-hole event with round scores of 74-74-73 to pace Indian Hills.
Freshman Daniel Freeman (Auckland, New Zealand/Auckland Grammar), competing in his first-career collegiate event, tied for 10th overall in his Indian Hills debut. Freeman posted a 6-over, 222 as an individual after firing round scores of 73-74-75.
Sophomore Emiliano Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico) collected his second top-10 finish of the year, tying with Freeman in 10th place. Arellano Lamas fired an opening round 73 before posting a 72 in the second round, the lowest mark for the Warriors in Stillwater.
Freshmen Chris Richards Jr. (Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tobago/Diego Martin Central) and Carl Knauer (Stenungsund, Sweden/Nosnas) each tied for 21st overall while Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) checked in at 26th overall for the Warriors.
Indian Hills is back in action October 6-8 at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational in Wichita, KS.
