NJCAA DI MEN'S GOLF SCOREBOARD POWERED BY CLIPP RANKINGS - WEEK 1
Ottumwa, IA – Indian Hills Men's Golf checked in at No. 4 in the inaugural National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national rankings, announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors garnered 78.41 average weighted points in the poll through four team events this fall. Indian Hills, who is also ranked No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) poll, sits behind No. 1 Midland College (TX), No. 2 Hutchinson Community College (KS), and No. 3 Odessa College (TX).
The Warriors are powered by five individuals in the top-50 of the individual national rankings. Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico), the lone sophomore on the team this year, cracked the top-10, checking in at No. 9 in the national rankings. Arellano Lamas, this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, has earned a pair of top-10 finishes this year, including medalist honors at the Blue River Classic in September.
Freshman Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) checked in at No. 15 in the first edition of the national rankings this year. Roth, who has named ICCAC Athlete of the Week earlier this fall, collected 32.09 average weighted points in the poll.
Fellow freshman Jedd Thomas (Sydney, Australia/St. Paul's Catholic) checked in at No. 31 in the national poll followed by Daniel Freeman (Auckland, New Zealand/Auckland Grammar) at No. 32. Carl Knauer (Stenungsund, Sweden/Nosnas) capped the Warriors' top-50 individual rankings with a spot at No. 50.
Indian Hills is set to close out its fall campaign with the NJCAA National Preview in Newton, KS October 23-24.
