Carmona, Philippines – Former Indian Hills Men's Golf standout Julien Sale made history over the weekend by winning the Philippine Open at Manila Southwoods. Sale became the first member in Asian Tour history to win his debut event.
Sale, a two-year member of the Indian Hills Men's Golf squad from 2016-18, fired a five-under 65 in his final round to claim the $90,000 purse. Sale posted an impressive 11-under 265 after improving on each round with scores of 69-68-67-65 to win the 143-player field by one stroke.
Sale also becomes the first French golfer to win on the Asian Tour in over 15 years.

During his time at Indian Hills, Sale was a two-time All-American for the Warriors while helping the team win the 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Championship in 2018 after a runner-up finish in 2017.
Sale completed his collegiate career at Arkansas State University under former Indian Hills Men's Golf coach Mike Hagen before embarking on a professional career that includes a stop on the DP World Tour and his most recent membership on the Asian Tour.
