PRESTON LANDS ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Charlie Preston (Hampshire, United Kingdom/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) of the Indian Hills Men's Golf squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golf Athlete of the Week. Preston took home medalist honors in his collegiate debut for the Warriors.

Competing at the Lindenwood Invitational last week, Preston made an immediate impact in his first-career event for the Warriors. Preston, who joined Indian Hills for the spring term, posted a 7-under, 206 to win the event by four strokes. Preston fired round scores of 64-73-69-206 as Indian Hills posted a second-place team finish.

Preston set himself apart from the 47-player field by carding a tournament-low 64 in the opening round. After a two-over in round two, Preston bounced back with a 2-under over the final 18 holes to claim the individual title.

Preston finished the event 7-under on all Par 5 holes and collected a tournament-best 18 birdies throughout the 54-hole tournament.

The Warriors return to action March 31 – April 1 at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational in Indianapolis, IN.
