Ottumwa -- Held scoreless for the first 60-plus minutes of play, 5th-ranked Indian Hills erupted for five goals in a span of about 16 mnutes to knock off Iowa Central, 5-3, on Monday and take over sole possession of first place in the conference standings.

The Warriors were down 1-0 when Reshon Phillip tallied back-to-back goals to begin the IHCC uprising.  By the time the flurry was finished Indian Hills had clinched its 13th win of the season and moved its ICCAC mark to 7-1, one-half game better than Iowa Western and Marshalltown.  Those two teams will meet this Saturday in Council Bluffs.

Iowa Central's Henrique Devins got the only goal of the first half and the score stayed 1-0 into the 64th minute of play.

Phillip's game-tying goal came after a nice feed from Akean Shackleford.  Phillip than added a second goal, his 10th, a couple of minutes later with Shackleford again credited with the assist.

Shackleford buried his 28th goal of the year and 50th of his IHCC career on a breakaway after taking a long pass from goalkeeper Ross Dalton to make it 3-1.

After that, Nathaniel Mederos Fonda scored consecutive goals just three minutes apart to conclude the IHCC scoring.  Phillip had a part in the first of those scores, his team-best 15th assist, and the second was an unassisted goal, Mederos Fonda's 9th.

Iowa Central cut into the final margin with two late goals but couldn't prevent Indian Hills from improving to 13-2 overall on a day when IHCC's sophomore players were honored.

The Warriors will end the regular season with two road contests this week.  They will play a non-league game at number-eight Cloud County in Kansas on Wednesday and will finish conference action in a match at Scott CC Saturday.
