WARRIORS CAP UNBEATEN HOME RECORD ON SOPHOMORE DAY

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad ran past Crowder College (MO) on Monday afternoon to pick up a 3-0 victory as part of Sophomore Day for the Warriors. Indian Hills moves to 14-1-2 overall on the year.

Indian Hills saw three different players score three second half goals to power the Warriors past the Roughriders to cap their home regular season schedule with an unbeaten record of 7-0-1. Indian Hills has now gone 19 consecutive matches without a loss on its home surface.

Following a scoreless first half between the two sides, Indian Hills broke things open in the 51st minute as freshman Joseph Redmond (Basingstoke, England/Basingstoke Academy) headed home a cross from Daniel Mulero (Asturias, Spain/Salesianos Santo Angel Aviles) to give the Warriors the initial 1-0 lead.

Mulero took matters into his own hands in the 62nd minute as the sophomore buried a free kick from 25 yards out to double the lead. The goal proved to be Mulero's team-leading 13th of the year.

Indian Hills closed out the scoring at the 65:04 mark as Santiago Cardenas (Lima, Peru/Bruno Traverso Damonti) recorded his 10th goal of the year after being a series of defenders to extend the lead to 3-0. Francesco Nanni (Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy/Angelo Vegni) was credited with the final assist of the afternoon.

Sophomore Bernardo Manzano (Palmas, Brazil/Layton Christian Academy) stopped a pair of shots to record his 11th win of the year, second-most in school history.

With three points on Monday afternoon, Mulero now ranks fourth in the nation with 42 points this season while his 16 assists are third-most in the country. Mulero is one of just two individuals in the nation with double-digit goals and double-digit assists on the year.

The Warriors, who dropped to No. 4 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Soccer poll on Monday, returns to action on Friday afternoon with a final matchup against No. 2 nationally ranked Iowa Western Community College. Action from the Mid American Rec Plex in Des Moines, IA gets underway at 2:00 PM.
