KROMWIJK, MARQUES SWEEP ICCAC AWARDS

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomores Gustavo Marques (São Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Anglo Indaiatuba) and Kaz Kromwijk (Schenkeldijk, Netherlands/Stedelijk Dalton Lyceum Kaptynweg) swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week honors for the No. 12 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad.

The duo helped guide the Warriors to a 3-0-1 record to start the season as the team climbed to its highest national ranking in five seasons. Through the team's first four games of the season, Marques led the Warriors in scoring while Kromwijk earned all three victories in net for the Warriors.

Marques, the team's third-leading scorer from a year ago, opened his sophomore campaign in impressive fashion, scoring a pair of goals in the team's season opening victory, a 4-1 defeat of Southwestern Illinois College. Marques added a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over No. 18 Jefferson College (MO) for seven points to start the year.

Marques is now tied for ninth all-time in Indian Hills history with 12 career goals.

Kromwijk posted a 3-0-0 record last week, including two complete game victories. The sophomore keeper led the Warriors to its season opening win over Southwestern Illinois before blanking Marshalltown Community College 1-0 on the final day of the IHCC Classic. Kromwijk added a scoreless 45 minutes of action in the Warriors' 3-0 win over Jefferson.

Kromwijk has now tallied nine career victories at Indian Hills, tied for third-most all-time in school history.

The Warriors are back in action this weekend at the Barton Classic in Great Bend, KS. Indian Hills will take on host Barton Community College on September 1 and Otero Junior College (CO) on September 3.
