Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Soccer team swept the weekly Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week awards after opening the 2024 campaign with a 2-0-0 record.

Sophomores Daniel Mulero (Asturias, Spain/Salesianos Santo Angel) and Bernardo Manzano (Palmas, Brazil/Layton Christian Academy) led the Warriors to a pair of impressive wins on the opening weekend of play. The Warriors defeated Marshalltown Community College 5-0 before taking down Prairie State Community College (IL) 2-1 as part of the IHCC Classic in Ottumwa.

Mulero sparked the offense in the opener for the Warriors, scoring a goal to go along with a pair of assists. Mulero tied for the team lead in assists as a freshman in 2023. In the IHCC Classic finale, Mulero controlled the midfield for the Warriors on their way to an undefeated start.

Manzano, making his collegiate debut for the Warriors, pitched a complete game shutout against Marshalltown. The sophomore followed up with a nearly flawless game against Prairie State, allowing just a late penalty kick to the Pioneers to pick up his second victory of the year.

The Warriors are back in action Wednesday, August 28 at home against Lincoln Trail College (IL). Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM from the IHCC Soccer Complex.
