Off to its best start in school history along with its highest national ranking in program history, the Indian Hills Men's Soccer squad hits the road to take on Cowley (6-0-1) in a key National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Soccer matchup
WARRIOR NOTES
Indian Hills heads to Arkansas City, KS for a premiere matchup with Cowley as the Warriors sport a 7-0-1 record on the year.
- The Warriors are fresh off a 5-2 win over Jefferson Colleg (MO) on Sunday as Lucas Bauer tallied three goals and Daniel Mulero recorded four assists in the win.
- Five of the team's seven wins this year have been by at least three goals as the Warriors have outscored their opponents 32-6 on the year.
- Mulero has climbed the national leaderboards as the sophomore owns the fourth-most assists (7) on the year while his 21 points are tied for fifth-most.
- As a team, the Warriors rank seventh in the nation with 28 assists and 11th overall with 32 goals this year.
- On the defensive front, Bernardo Manzano ranks 19th in the nation with a 0.79 goals against average while his six wins are second-most in the NJCAA.
- Wednesday's match will be the Warriors' first trip out of the state of Iowa this year, making the 450-mile trek south on I-35.
- Indian Hills is 5-3-2 all-time vs. teams from the state of Kansas.
HEAVYWEIGHT BATTLE
In one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the junior college season thus far, Indian Hills and Cowley will square off for the first top-5 matchup of the year in the NJCAA.
- The two squads are among 14 programs in the nation without a loss this year as both sides checked in at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, in Monday's NJCAA poll.
- Both programs reached the 2023 NJCAA DI Men's Soccer National Tournament in Wichita with each team earning a win in pool play.
- Indian Hills has captured two consecutive NJCAA Region 11 Championships while the Tigers have reached the national tournament in five of the last six seasons.
- Cowley currently ranks fifth in the nation with a 0.43 goals against average while the Warriors rank 12th in the NJCAA a 0.63.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
A perennial national contender, the Tigers are off to an impressive start in 2024, conceding just three goals on the year.
- The Tigers are 2-0-0 against teams that have appeared in the national rankings this year, including a win over Indian Hills' district foe Lewis & Clark.
- Cowley is currently 3-0-1 at its home complex this year.
- The Tigers are led by Carmelo Bello's nine points (3g, 3a) on the year while Shogo Haraikawa boasts a team-high four goals.
- Sophomore Kamy Ndione has played every minute in net for the Tigers this year and owns a 0.43 goals against avearage to go along with a .864 save percentage.
- Wednesday's matchup will be the first all-time meeting between Indian Hills and Cowley.
- Cowley's most recent matchup against Kansas City Kansas, a team receiving votes in the latest national poll, was suspended due to lightning with 30 minutes to play on September 21 with Kansas City Kansas leading Cowley 1-0.

The Warriors' road stretch continues with a trip to Peoria, IL to take on Illinois Central Community College on September 28 before traveling back to Kansas for the Barton Classic in Great Bend, KS October 2-3.
