MULERO, GARCIA RACK UP WEEKLY HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Daniel Mulero (Asturias, Spain/Salesianos Santo Angel Aviles) and freshman Gonzalo Garcia (Catagena, Spain/Colegio) took home a series of weekly awards after leading the Warriors to a pair of wins last week. The duo were boh named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week while Mulero was tapped as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Soccer Offensive player of the Week

The duo helped the Warriors secure a 3-0 win over Western Iowa Tech Community College and a 5-2 win over Jefferson College (MO), both victories coming at the IHCC Soccer Complex.

Mulero paced the offense for Indian Hills to land his third ICCAC DI Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award. Mulero tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner against Western Iowa Tech before erupting for six points (1g, 4a), including the game-winning goal against Jefferson.

Mulero's four assists against Jefferson tied a school record, just the second such occurrence in program history and first since 2016. The sophomore now ranks fourth in the NJCAA with seven assists on the year while his 21 points are currently tied for fifth-most.

Mulero becomes the fourth men's soccer player in school history, and first since 2022 to earn NJCAA Athlete of the Week honors.

Garcia nabs his first-career ICCAC honor after anchoring the defense for the Warriors over the past two contests. Garcia recorded a pair of assists from the backline while leading Indian Hills to its fourth clean sheet of the year.

The Warriors return to action on Wednesday afternoon with a key nonconference matchup against No. 4 Cowley College (KS) in Arkansas City, KS. Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM.
