WARRIORS AT NATIONALS

Indian Hills will be making its third all-time appearance at the national tournament, joining the 2023 and 2017 programs.

  • Making its first all-time appearance on the big stage, the Warriors nearly advanced out of Pool Play. Indian Hills, the No. 5 seed in the tournament defeated Louisburg 1-0 in its opener before dropping a heartbreaker 2-1 in double overtime to No. 4 seed and eventual national champion Tyler. All-American Akean Shackleford provided an electric goal before Tyler found the back of the net with less than a minute to play in the second overtime session.
  • The No. 10 seeded Warriors put together another valiant effort in the 2023 tournament, once again falling just short in the group stage. Indian Hills forced a first-of-its-kind three-way tie with Salt Lake and Barton after each squad went 1-1-0. The Warriors eventually fell in an elimination style golden goal scenario, coming up short in penalty kicks to Barton.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS

Indian Hills and Western Nebraska, the No. 11 seed will match up for the second time this year after the Warriors scored an impressive 6-0 victory over the Cougars on August 31.

  • The Cougars, winners of the NJCAA Northwest Plains District, heads to Wichita with a 10-4-2 overall record.
  • Western Nebraska is 1-1-1 against like opponents with the Warriors this year, including a 2-0 win over Otero in the District championship.
  • Western Nebraska lost just once over the team's final nine games, including four shutout victories.
  • Sophomore Eduardo Oliveira ranks in the top-20 in the nation with a team-high 31 points, including 13 goals.
  • Freshman Owen Henderson has led the Cougars in net, collecting all 10 of the team's wins while pitching four shutouts.
