IHCC Men's Track Athletes Moving On

Men's Track

Ottumwa -- A signing ceremony at Indian Hills on May 2 brought together many of the IHCC student-athletes who signed letters of intent with four-year schools where they will continue their athletic and academic careers.  This is what head running programs coach Brent Ewing said about his athletes who were part of the ceremony (their future schools are listed):

Marcus Graham -- Flagler College:  Marcus stepped in this year and took leadership of our distance squad.  He will go down as the most decorated distance runner in program history.  I fully expect Marcus to be one of the best NCAA DII runners during his time at Flagler.

Michael DeMeyer -- University of Southern Indiana: Michael's improvement during his two years of college has been remarkable.  He is one of only two IHCC men to ever earn All-American status in cross country.  I am confident he will add another All-American performance at the outdoor track national championship.  Michael is transferring to a NCAA DII program that is known for their dominance in distance running.  I think the best is yet to come for him.

Caleb Cowles -- Minnesota State Mankato: Caleb transferred to IHCC after a tough freshman year that was plagued by injuries.  He never stopped believing in himself.  His persistence led to a region title in the high jump, a new school record and a trip to two national meets.  I'm very happy for Caleb.  I believe MSU Mankato will be a great fit for him.

In addition to these three Clayton Grainger will be running for the club team at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
