STARTING LINE
Indian Hills is set to host the NJCAA Region 11 Championships for the first time since 2019 and just the second time in program history as men's and women's athletes from nine ICCAC institutions head to Cedar Creek Golf Course in seek of a region championship.
- The Warrior men and women will be one of three NJCAA Division I programs competing as Iowa Central and Iowa Western toe the line on Friday.
- The Warriors most recently competed on its home course with the Indian Hills Invitational on October 11 where the men took second overall and the women placed fifth.
- Sophomore Cayde de Waal posted a solid performance on the men's side at the Indian Hills Invitational, placing second overall with a time of 24:46.8.
- Freshman Tiffani Koonce continued to star for the Warriors with a sixth-place finish and a time of 19:17.7.
- The Indian Hills men enter the weekend ranked No. 13 in the latest USTFCCCA poll while the women held strong in the top-25, checking in at No. 23.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
A perennial power at both the NJCAA Division I and II championships each year, the ICCAC boasts a loaded field of competitors heading into the weekend.
- Iowa Western will head to Ottumwa ranked No. 2 in the nation in the latest USTFCCCA poll after previously holding the top spot.
- The Iowa Central men, who had won nine consecutive NJCAA Region 11 titles before being knocked off by Iowa Western last year, are ranked No. 9.
- The Iowa Central women will enter the weekend ranked No. 3, while Iowa Western, the defending NJCAA Region 11 champs, are ranked No. 9.
- NJCAA DII men's programs competing include DMACC, Hawkeye, NIACC, Southeastern, and Southwestern.
- NJCAA DII women's programs competing include DMACC, Hawkeye, NIACC, Scott, and Southeastern.
