WARRIORS NARROWLY EDGED BY SOUTHEASTERN

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Sports Shooting squad fell in a tight battle to visiting Southeastern Community College on Friday night, dropping a 469-463 decision at the Ottumwa Izaak Walton League. The Warriors fall to 1-1 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play on the year.

Indian Hills was led by Jaxton Elliott (Bloomfield, IA/Ottumwa) on the men's side with a team-high 96. Elliott finished the night with a perfect round of 25 to finish second overall in the men's medalist standings.

On the women's side, sophomore Camme Barber (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) led all females in her season debut with a score of 86. Barber opened the meet with a 24 in the first round and tallied a 24 in the third round to pace the Warrior women.

"Only six targets separated us and that just goes to show every target counts," stated head coach Jake Stalzer. "It was great to see Jaxton fire a 95 and come home with a men's silver. Camme also performed very well for us tonight to win the ladies gold."

Contributors to the Warriors' team score included Dylan Mohr (Moulton, IA/Scotland County) with a 93, Josh Meyer (Bettendorf, IA/Bettendorf) and Kolton Kopsieker (Ollie, IA/Pekin) each with a 92, and Zach Ross (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) with a 90.

Mohr joined Elliott in the final round to post the two perfect frames for the Warriors on Friday night. In total, 12 different Warriors scored an 81 or better on the night.

The Warriors are back in action Saturday morning at the Izaak Walton League against Northeast Iowa Community College. First shot is set for 11:00 AM.
