WARRIORS PICK UP THREE WINS IN ICCAC ACTION

Oskaloosa, IA – The Indian Hills Sports Shooting team produced one of its strongest performances in recent history as the Warriors picked up three wins in Saturday's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) East Division Skeet and Sporting Clays Triangular at the Mahaska County Izaak Walton League.

Competing against ICCAC East Division foes Hawkeye Community College and Southeastern Community College, the Warriors produced totals of 275 Skeet targets and 251 Sporting Clays targets. Indian Hills' Sporting Clays total was enough to outlast both opposing squads for two victories while the Warriors' Skeet tally upended Southeastern's, but fell short by just nine targets to Hawkeye.

The Warriors claimed their first-ever Sporting Clays victory over Hawkeye, the defending ICCAC East Division Skeet and Sporting Clays champion, edging the Redtails 251-247. The Warriors' mark was also good enough to top Southeastern's 214 targets.

Indian Hills' 275 Skeet targets fell short to Hawkeye's 284, but edged Southeastern's 267 targets for the day.

The Warriors were led by freshman Carson Abrams (Oskaloosa, IA/Pella Christian) who produced another impressive performance on the range for the second consecutve week. Abrams paced the Warriors with 89 Sporting Clays targets to lead the team. Abrams' total was the top mark of the day, topping all Southeastern and Hawkeye shooters.

Cooper Clark (Story City, IA/Roland Story) placed second overall for the Warriors and was the third-highest mark among the 30 shooters on the day. Clark's 82 Sporting Clays targets were third only to Abrams and Hawkeye's top performer.

Aidan Eiscehn (New Sharon, IA/North Mahaska) and Kyler Schwartz (Burlington, IA/Burlington) also produced strong showings for the Warriors with 80 Sporting Clays targets.

Abrams and Clark were also the top Skeet performers for the Warriors with 92 targets, tied for the most marks against Southeastern.

Mason Herrington (Eldridge, IA/North Scott) finished with a season-best 91 targets to place third overall vs. Southeastern for Indian Hills.

Haley Byrge (Chilton, WI/Chilton) was the top female performer for the Warriors in Skeet, placing second overall vs. Southeastern and third overall vs. Hawkeye with 70 targets.

The Warriors return to action at Hawkeye for an ICCAC Trap Dual on October 6 at the Izaak Walton League in Waterloo, IA.
