NOTES FROM THE RANGE

  • Indian Hills is coming off a strong showing at the Simpson Open in Waukee, IA with a fourth-place showing against prominent four-year universities.
  • Cooper Clark and Carson Abrams each led the Warriors with a 304 and 302 HOA, respectively to place in the top-30. Abrams posted a team-high 85 targets in sporting clays while Clark's95 skeet targets paced the Warriors.
  • Indian Hills, Hawkeye, and Southeastern are the only teams in the ICCAC East Division that compete in all three disciplines - trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Saturday's action will be the first skeet and sporting clays competition for each team this year.
  • Hawkeye posted a 2-0 conference record in both skeet and sporting clays last year while the Warriors went 1-1 and Southeastern finsihed 0-2.

STALZER'S NOTES

"Cooper Clark and Carson Abrams are coming off a strong showing last weekend - we'll look for them to keep that momentum going tomorrow. Carson was around in the top-five for Sporting Clays score at last weekend's Simpson Invite which is encouraging heading into Saturday.

Haley Byrge and Zane Kirubakaran hadn't had much skeet or sporting experience before college - last weekend was a good test for them. They're feeling more comfortable and both looked much better at practice this week, so looking forward to seeing what they can do Saturday.

A big thank you to Larry and the Mahaska County Izaak Walton League for allowing us to use their facility and all the work they've put into setting up the Sporting Clays course."
