NO. 9 INDIAN HILLS FINISHES 7TH AT LES DUKE

Grinnell, IA – Freshman Emily Casterline (Pella, IA/Belvidere) sprinted to a 26th place finish at the 59th annual Les Duke Invitational to lead the No. 9 Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team to a seventh place finish on Saturday.

Casterline, named last week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, finished with a time of 25:35.4 to pace the Warriors for the second consecutive week. Casterline's effort was the 26th fastest time in a field of 118 runners.

Freshman Isabelle Mellin (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) placed second for Indian Hills with a time of 27:20.3, narrowly edging teammate Alexia McClure (Eldon, IA/Eldon). The two teammates finished 36th and 37th, respectively to score for the Warriors.

Morgan Klauss (Bloomfield, IA/Davis County) placed 39th overall with a time of 27:40.8 and sophomore Monse Chalupa (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) rounded out the Warrior scoring with a 45th place finish in a time of 28:55.4

Wartburg College took home the top team finish after collecting the top three individual finishers on Saturday.

The Warriors, who earned their highest national ranking in program history at No. 9 this week, return to action on Sept. 25 at the Grand View Invitational.
