Waverly, IA – Led by a pair of top-10 all-time performances, No. 23 Indian Hills Women's Cross Country posted a fourth-place team finish at the 2024 Dan Huston Invitational on the Max Cross Country Course. The Warriors scored 114 team points with all five individuals placing in the top-40 scorers.
Freshman Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) continued her breakout freshman campaign by placing seventh overall in the 80-athlete field. Koonce posted a time of 23:22.6 in the 6k event, the second-fastest time in school history behind Maddie Bach's time of 22:58.5 in 2017. Koonce was the top junior college finisher in the event and the first collegiate individual outside of meet host Wartburg College to place.
Sophomore Jordyn Beck (Marion, IA/Linn-Mar) placed 25th overall for the Warriors with a time of 25:04.4, the eighth-best mark in school history.
Freshman Raynisha Narcisse (Lauderdale Lakes, FL/Fort Lauderdale) served as the third Warrior to cross the finish line, checking in at 50th overall with a time of 26:48.1. Shymhia Morris (Memphis, TN/Whitehaven) clocked in with a time of 27:53.9 while freshman Riley Vogel (Festus, MO/Festus) capped the team scoring with a time of 29:38.5 as the Warriors competed in their first 6k event of the season.
Wartburg took home top honors with 15 team points followed by Nebraska Wesleyan College and Saint Mary's University (MN) in third.
The Warriors are set to host the annual Indian Hills Invitational, the program's premiere home event at Cedar Creek Golf Course in Ottumwa, IA on October 11. The home meet serves as the first of two events on the Warriors' home trail as Indian Hills plays host to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championship on October 25, also at Cedar Creek Golf Course.
