FOUR SEASON-BEST TIMES LEAD WARRIORS AT HOME MEET

Ottumwa, IA – Competing on its home course for the first time this season, No. 23 Indian Hills Women's Cross Country took home a fifth-place finish at the 2024 Indian Hills Invitational. The Warriors were led by freshman Tiffani Koonce's (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) top-10 finish.

The Warriors scored 139 team points at Cedar Creek Golf Course as Koonce placed sixth overall in the 66-athlete field. Koonce posted a season-best time of 19:17.7, the fastest individual time by an Indian Hills female in the five years the 5k event has been hosted by the Warriors.

Sophomore Jordyn Beck (Marion, IA/Linn-Mar) checked in in 14th place with a season-best time of 20:46.9 to score for the Warriors. Raynisha Narcisse's (Lauderdale Lakes, FL/Fort Lauderdale) season-best time of 22:38.0 was good enough for 34th place while Shmyhia Morris (Memphis, TN/Whitehaven) crossed the line with a time of 23:37.7. Freshman Riley Vogel (Festus, MO/Festus) rounded out the team scoring with a time of 23:57.3, setting a new season-best by more than one full minute.

Iowa Central Community College took the team title with four top-10 performances followed by Des Moines Area Community College, Heartland Community College, and Graceland University to round out the top-five.

The Warriors return home once again to host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championships on October 25 at Cedar Creek.
