KOONCE LANDS ICCAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) of the No. 23 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Cross Country squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Koonce put together her most impressive showing in her inaugural collegiate season. Taking on the Dan Huston Invitational in Waverly, IA, Koonce placed seventh overall in the 80-athlete field with a time of 23:22.6. Koonce's mark proved to be the second-fastest 6k time in school history, and the fastest mark since 2017.

Koonce crossed the finish line as the top junior college athlete in the event and the first collegiate individual outside of meet host Wartburg College to place. Koonce has now led the Warriors in each of the team's first three meets of the year.

Indian Hills is set to host its annual home race on October 11 with the Indian Hills Invitational. The 5k event gets underway at 4:00 PM from Cedar Creek Golf Course in Ottumwa.
