IHCC Competes at UD, Sets Six School Records

Dubuque, Iowa -- Indian Hills established six new school records and weightman Nathan Winters qualified for the indoor nationals at the Sol Butler Classic, hosted by the University of Dubuque on Saturday.

With 10 schools competing, the Warriors won four events on their way to a third-place team finish with 103 points.

Joshua Raphael took first-place honors in the 55 meter dash in a time of 6.48; Brieon Randle won the 400 meters with a time of 51.97; the 4x400 meter relay unit that included Randle, Jeremy Leath, Raphael and Jovan Parks set a school record with their winning time of 3:25.33 with Parks turning in a 50.50 anchor leg; and Winters is headed to the NJCAA indoor national meet for the second year in a row after he won the shot put with a qualifying toss of 52'-2.75".

Indian Hills had 17 other top-10 finishes in the meet.  They were by:

Bernard McCann III 3rd (6.60) in the 55 meters

Raykwon McClenny 4th (22.92), and Dave Hundley Jr. 6th (23.35) in the 200 meters

Jovan Parks 2nd (52.30) in the 400 meters

Jeremy Leath 8th (1:29.67) in the 600 meters

Chris Kubli 3rd (2:43.01) in the 1000 meters

Garret Hinson 10th (4:41.20) in the mile

Clayton Grainger 5th (9:47.04), Zachary Hougland 7th (9:55.68), Cody Mathis 9th (10:29.76) and Doug Turner 10th (10:38.83) in the 3000 meter run

Raykwon McClenney 2nd (7.84) in the 55 meter hurdles

Dion Ryan 3rd (6'7") and Colton Lanman 4th (6'5") in the high jump

Bernard McCann III 4th (22'1") in the long jump (broke his own school record by five inches)

Javaris Logan 9th (21'0") in the long jump

Javaris Logan 5th (43'1") in the triple jump

Indian Hills will take part in the Chelsey M. Henkenius Open at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa on Jan. 20.
