McClenny, Winters Lead IHCC at Region Meet

Storm Lake, Iowa -- Second-place finishes from Raykwon McClenny in the 60 meter hurdles and Nathan Winters in the shot put paced the Indian Hills Warriors men's track and field team in the Region XI Championship at the Lamberti Recreation Center at Buena Vista University.

McClenny ran 8.30 in the 60 meter hurdles for a new school record, and Winters threw the shot 50'-1" for the two runnerup results for IHCC.  McClenny accounted for 16 team points with his three top-six finishes.

Chris Kubli was 3rd in the 800 meters (1:57.90) and Colton Lanman jumped 6'-5" for 3rd in the high jump.  Indian Hills piled up a total of 12 points in the high jump competition.

Claiming 4th-place finishes were McClenny in the 200 meters (22.37) and the distance medley relay team of Zachary Hougland, Cody Mathis, Doug Turner and Gianni Berry (11:40.93).  Dion Ryan tied for 4th in the high jump (6'-3").

 

Indian Hills was 5th out of 6 schools in the team standings, recording 60 points.  Iowa Central ran away with the team title.

Other top-ten finishes for IHCC were:

4x400 relay team of Bernard McCann III, Jeremy Leath, Dave Hundley Jr., Chris Kubli, 5th (3:30.74)

4x800 relay team of Garret Hinson, Clayton Grainger, Cameron Schroeder, Chris Kubli, 5th (8:59.61)

Raykwon McClenny, 6th in the 60 meters (7.12)

Jovan Parks, 7th in the 200 meters (22.56)

Brieon Randle, 7th in the 400 meters (50.47)

Damond Anderson, tied for 7th in the high jump (6'-1")

Bernard McCann III, 7th in the long jump (21'-7")

Jovan Parks, 8th in the 400 meters (50.51)

Garret Hinson, 9th in the 1 mile run (4:42.14)

Javaris Logan, 9th in the long jump (19'-11")

Chris Kubli, 10th in the 1000 meters (2:47.87)

Indian Hills has around two weeks to prepare for the NJCAA Indoor National Championship in Lubbock, Texas Mar. 2-3.
