Four School Records Broken at Central College Invite

Pella, Iowa-- The men's track and field team broke four outdoor school records at the Central College Invitational Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30th. The Warriors competed in eight events on a chilly and windy day one and another nine on a sun filled Friday. Bernard McCann III had arguably his best collegiate performance yet. The freshman from Springfield, MO was second in the 100m prelims, breaking the school record with a time of 11.01. McCann III came back to finish second in the finals with a time of 11.15, while also finishing fourth in the long jump (6.60m). National qualifier, Brieon Randle, finished 5th in the 400m on day one (50.31), before stealing the show on day two with a new school record in the 200m (22.15). Chris Kubli had a very impressive 400/800m double. Kubli placed third in his fastest open 400m ever on day one (50.04), before breaking his own school record in the 800m on day two (1:57.51). Zachary Hougland took 7th in the 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m run, finishing in 10:16 and 16:40.  Raykwon McClenny opened up his outdoor season competing in the 110 hurdles. The Virginia native won the event with a new school record time of 14.86.

Three time All-American, Nathan Winters finished fourth in the discus on day one with a throw of 44.76m, while taking the shot put title on day two (14.36m). Doug Turner took 11th in the javelin (44.21m). Colton Lanman and Damond Anderson finished 4th and 6th in the high jump with leaps of 1.94 and 1.85, respectively.

The men's and women's track and field teams will head to Fayette, Missouri next for the Central Methodist University Invitational Saturday, April 7th.
