MARSHALL EARNS SECOND ICCAC HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – Rivaldo Marshall (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) set two new school records for the Indian Hills Men's Track program in another impressive performance over the weekend. The sophomore has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Marshall, who previously set a national record in the men's 800-meter run earlier in the year, rewrote the record books once again at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, IA on Saturday. The defending outdoor 800m national champion set the 600-meter school record and was a member of the record-breaking 4x400-meter relay squad.

Marshall, one of the top middle-distance athletes in the nation, posted a time of 1:17.94 in the 600m on Saturday, 0.62 seconds off his previous top mark to set the new school record. The sophomore was the top finisher at in the 23-man field that included athletes from the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, and University of Missouri.

Marshall closed out the Warriors' strong showing at the Hawkeye Invitational after anchoring the team's 4x400m relay. Marshall teamed up with Woyn Chatman (Little Rock, AR/Little Rock Central), Tyrice Taylor (Linstead, Jamaica/Linstead), and Chris Johnson (Houston, TX/Cypress Park) to post an Indian Hills record time of 3:12.56, more than a half second ahead of Iowa's relay team. Marshall posted the fastest split of the group with a time of 47.45 to push the Warriors to the first-place team finish.

Marshall, who is now a two-time ICCAC Athlete of the Week this year, currently owns six Indian Hills school records between the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Marshall and the Warriors will compete this weekend at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City.
