MARSHALL SWEEPS USTFCCCA, ICCAC HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – For the third time this season, Indian Hills Men's Track & Field standout Rivaldo Marshall (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) has been tapped as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week.

Marshall's remarkable sophomore campaign reached new heights over the weekend at the University of Iowa. Marshall, who has also been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week, competed in the invite-only Puma Hawkeye Pro Classic 1,000-meter run in Iowa City. Marshall posted the third-fastest time in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) history with a time of 2:23.23. Marshall placed fifth overall behind four professional runners that were separated by less than three seconds overall.

The mark bettered Marshall's previous personal best by four seconds to set the new Indian Hills 1000m record. In his standout sophomore season, Marshall now owns four indoor school records to go along with his school record 800-meter time that led to his 2022 national championship.
