MEN'S RELAY SQUAD EARNS ICCAC HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – The record-breaking Indian Hills Men's Track & Field 4x400-meter relay squad has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athletes of the Week for their performance at the 8th Annual Gorilla Classic.

The Warrior quartet comprised of Woyn Chatman (Little Rock, AR / Little Rock Central), Tyrice Taylor (Linstead, Jamaica/Linstead), Chris Giles (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge), and Rivaldo Marshall (Kingston, Jamaica/Calabar) dashed to a time of a 3:09.49 to break the previous Indian Hills school record by nearly three seconds.

Chatman opened up the event with a split of 47.47 followed by Taylor's split of 47.99. Giles cruised to the fastest split of the day to lead the Warriors with a 46.18 while Marshall anchored the relay with a split of 47.81.

The mark was good enough for second place overall at the Gorilla Classic, less than two seconds behind first-place Pittsburg State University.

The Warriors' time currently ranks third among all teams in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this year.

Indian Hills will now head to the NJCAA Region XI Championship at February 17-18 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA.
