An action-packed weekend for the Warriors will see a number of athletes competing at premiere outdoor events as the Indian Hills Track & Field program gears up for postseason competition.

LSU INVITATIONAL

One of the premier collegiate events in the nation, the Warriors have been invited to compete against the likes of some of the most talented NCAA DI programs.

"I'm always looking for ways to challenge our team and do things that separate us from other junior college programs," stated head coach Brent Ewing. "The opportunity to be allowed into a meet at LSU is unique and speaks volumes about the type of athletes we have and the development of our program."

The Warriors will send 14 individuals across a number of events to compete at the invitational.

Two-time defending 800-meter national champion Rivaldo Marshall, Cole Reinders, Roneldo Rock, and Tyrice Taylor will highlight the middle-distance events for the Warriors. The sprints group will feature Chris Giles, Chris Johnson, Woyn Chatman, Kevontae Walls-Burdine, Khalid Hornsby, Nehemiah Ray, and Traunard Folson. Dean Clarke and Damien Lewis will take on the hurdle events for the Warriors.

On the women's side, Adalin Robinson, the ICCAC Athlete of the Week from a week ago, will make the trek to compete for the Warriors.

"We'll be facing top NCAA DI programs like LSU, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Baylor as well as professional athletes. The group is really excited about this opportunity and I'm grateful that they get the chance to showcase themselves at a meet that is widely regarded as one of the best in the United States, if not the world."

DRAKE RELAYS

Sophomore Haleigh Hadley (Gilbert, IA/Gilbert) will be the lone Warrior competitor at this year's coveted Drake Relays, the 113th running of the event. Hadley, a three-time NJCAA All-American in the high jump, currently ranks fifth in the nation with a mark of 1.69 meters this year. Hadley earned All-American honors most recently at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.

KIP JANVRIN OPEN

One of the largest meets in the Midwest region, the 16th annual Kip Janvrin Open regularly features over 1,000 athletes from more than 50 college programs around the country. The Warriors will send a large group of individuals to compete in the two-day event at Bill Buxton Stadium, set to kick-off at 1:00 PM on Thursday.

"We've had several athletes produce personal best marks at the Kip Janvrin meet in the past," Ewing noted. "They've moved the meet up a day to take advantage of the nice weather."

WHAT'S NEXT

The Warriors will turn their attention to postseason competition with the upcoming NJCAA Region XI Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Council Bluffs, IA at the Iowa Western Track.
