FOLSON NABS SECOND ICCAC HONOR

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore Traunard Folson (Jacksonville, FL/Andrew Jackson) left his mark in the Bayou State over the weekend to earn Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors. Folson earns his second weekly accolade this year.

Competing at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, LA, Folson posted a pair of dominant performances on the sprint track for the No. 3 nationally ranked Warriors. One of the top sprinters in the nation throughout the 2024 outdoor season, Folson ran the 10th fastest 100-meter time in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) history with a wind-legal time of 10.06 on Saturday. The sophomore's time was good enough for fifth overall while competing against some of the top names in all of track & field.

Folson followed up with a second-place showing in the men's 200-meter dash, running to a time of 20.53 to finish behind United States Olympian Vernon Norwood. Folson's time was good enough for third-best in school history.

Folson has rewritten the Indian Hills record books throughout his sophomore campaign as the Warriors are set to head into postseason action. Indian Hills heads to the NJCAA Region 11 Outdoor Track & Field Championship this weekend in Council Bluffs, IA, hosted by Iowa Western Community College.
