THROWERS SHINE AT WARTBURG SELECT MEET

Waverly, IA – The Indian Hills Men's and Women's Track & Field teams kept their momentum rolling with another impressive outing at the Wartburg Outdoor Select meet in Waverly, IA on April 4–5. The Warriors saw several standout performances, highlighted by podium finishes and new National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) top marks.

In the throws events, Kaden Banks (Onalaska, WI/Holmen) led the way with a massive toss of 55.94m (183-06) in the men's discus, earning him the No. 2 mark in NJCAA Division I this season while breaking the all-time Indian Hills school record. Teammate Michael Etuma (Iowa City, IA/Iowa City) followed closely, taking second with a throw of 52.86m (173-06)—good for the fourth-best mark in the NJCAA this year and a new personal-best performance. Terrance Powe Jr. (Niceville, FL/Niceville) rounded out the top three for Indian Hills with a throw of 46.48m (152-06), currently ranked 12th in the NJCAA this year.

In the men's hammer throw, Haydn Stockdale (Cedar Rapids, IA/Cedar Rapids Prairie) placed eighth with a personal-best mark of 52.92m (173-07), currently ranked ninth in the NJCAA, while Etuma landed in 10th at 51.00m (167-04).

In the men's shot put, Banks added another top performance, placing third overall with a mark of 16.76m (55-00.00)—a consistent showing in one of his premiere events. Banks' mark, a new personal-best, ranks third all-time in Indian Hills program history while hitting the national qualifying mark for the upcoming NJCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

On the women's side, Cynthia Albert (Eldon, IA/Cardinal) recorded a mark of 41.42m (135-10) in the women's hammer throw, placing 14th overall. Alberts' mark currently ranks No. 21 in the nation this year.

The weekend meet further highlighted Indian Hills' deep and talented roster, with multiple athletes continuing to climb the national rankings.

The Warriors are back in action April 11–13 at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, KS.
