NO. 13 WARRIORS EARN FIVE FALLS IN ROUT

Centerville, IA – No. 13 Indian Hills Men's Wrestling picked up its second Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) dual victory of the year with a 33-17 win over Iowa Lakes Community College on Tuesday night.

The Warriors (2-0, 2-0) secured five pins on the night, including four straight in the middle-weight classes to run away from the Lakers (0-2, 0-2). Indian Hills, ranked No. 13 in the first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling poll, improves to 4-0 all-time vs. the Lakers.

Freshman Riley Bettich (Stevensville, MI/Crown Point) opened up the night with a fall in 1:43 in the opening round in the 125lb class. The pin is the second consecutive dual Bettich has earned a pin in less than two minutes for the Warriors.

Freshman Arojae Hart (Murphysboro, IL/Murphysboro) picked up a decision at 133lbs after securing a 4-0 victory. Hart earned two points for a takedown in the opening round and added two more points in round three to prevail for his second dual win of the year.

After a major for the Lakers at 141lbs, sophomore Matthew Lewis (Centerville, IA/Centerville), ranked No. 3 in the nation at 141lbs, scored a pin at 149lbs to earn six team points for the Warriors. Lewis picked up his second dual win this year after dropping his opponent in 2:08 in the opening round.

Sophomore Michael Lonnay (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) recorded the Warriors' third pin of the night at 157lbs. The sophomore secured six more team points with a pin 2:01 into the opening round.

The Warriors' quickest pin of the night came in the 165lb weight class as Cade Molyneux (Sigourney, IA/Sigourney) needed just 34 seconds to secure his first collegiate dual win. Molyneux's pin put the Warriors ahead 27-4 after six bouts.

In his first dual action of the year, sophomore Lucas Henderson (Centerville, IA/Centerville) rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with a fall at 174lbs. Henderson jumped out to a measurable 8-1 lead in the opening minute of action before scoring a pin in 1:54 for the Warriors.

Iowa Lakes secured three victories down the stretch, but the early Warrior lead proved to be insurmountable.

The Warriors are set to head to the Lindenwood Open in St. Charles, MO on Saturday. Action gets underway at 9:00 AM.
