BETTICH LANDS ICCAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Centerville, IA – Freshman Riley Bettich (Stevensville, MI/Crown Point) has been named this week's Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Men's Wrestler of the Week after going 6-0 on the mat for the Warriors last week.

Bettich's breakout freshman campaign continued in the 125lb weight class last week after going unbeaten for the Warriors. Bettich secured an ICCAC dual victory before running through the Lindenwood Open bracket to claim first-place honors.

The freshman opened up the week with a dual win over Iowa Lakes Community College. Bettich secured a pin in 1:43 in the opening round to move to 2-0 in conference duals this year. The pin was Bettich's second fall in ICCAC action this year.

At the Lindenwood Open in St. Charles, MO, Bettich went 5-0 to claim first-place in the event. In the opening round, Bettich scored a pin 1:03 before earning a 16-1 tech fall in the second round. In a quarterfinal matchup with No. 4 nationally ranked Anthony Schickel of Triton College (IL), Bettich earned a 4-2 decision to advance.

The freshman continued his run in the semis, scoring a 6-2 decision before a thrilling 3-1 sudden victory in the championship round.

On the year, Bettich is 10-1 with four pins.

Indian Hills is back in action November 30 at Ellsworth Community College for an ICCAC dual.
