FIVE INDIVIDUALS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING POLL - INDIVIDUAL (WEEK 3)

Ottumwa, IA – For the first time this season, the No. 9 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Wrestling team placed five in the individual national rankings.

Freshman Riley Bettich (Stevensville, MI/Crown Point) checked in at No. 3 in the 125lb weight class while sophomore Kawaun Deboe (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) is ranked No. 3 in the heavyweight division. Matthew Lewis (Centerville, IA/Centerville) earned the No. 4 rank in the 141lb weight class and Lucas Henderson (Centerville, IA/Centerville) is ranked No. 9 in the 174lb weight class. Weston Milnes-Bowers (handler, AZ/Valiant College Prep) is the No. 10 ranked individual in the 165lb weight class.

The five individuals are the most for the Warriors this season who previously earned four individuals in the national rankings in the December poll. The Warriors placed two individuals – Lewis and Deboe in the first national ranking of the year in November.

Bettich held strong at No. 3 in the 125lb weight class after being idle since the release of the previous national rankings. The freshman standout, who was unranked to start the year, boasts a 3-0 record in conference dual action this year and is 14-2 overall with his only two losses coming to the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked individuals in the 125lb class. Six of Bettich's victories this year have come by way of fall.

Deboe maintained his spot at No. 3 in the heavyweight division for the third consecutive poll. Deboe is 1-0 in ICCAC dual action this year and has not dropped a match to a junior college wrestler.

Lewis wrapped up the 2022 portion of the Warriors' schedule in convincing fashion as the sophomore took first place at the 31st Annual Art Kraft Memorial Tournament and earned ICCAC Athlete of the Week honors. Lewis held his spot at No. 4 in the 141lb class and is 12-1 on the year. The sophomore went 4-0 at the Art Kraft Memorial and now ranks fifth in school history with 29 victories.

Henderson dropped two spots in the 174lb class but maintained a place in the top-10 in the national rankings. Henderson is 11-3 on the year and sports a 2-1 record in ICCAC duals.

Milnes made his first appearance in the national rankings this year as the freshman checked in at No. 10 in the 165lb class.

As a team, the Warriors held strong in the national rankings at No. 9 for the second consecutive poll.
