Indian Hills hits the road for its first true dual action of the year as the Warriors are set for a pair of nationally ranked matchups against league foe Iowa Central.

WOMEN'S NOTES

  • Indian Hills heads to Fort Doge as the No. 1 ranked team in the latest NJCAA national poll while the Tritons check in at No. 2. In the latest The Open Mat rankings, Iowa Central holds the No. 1 spot while the Warriors come in at No. 2.
  • The Warriors boast 15 individuals in the national NJCAA rankings in their respective weight class and 14 in The Open Mat rankings while Iowa Central claims 12 NJCAA individual national rankings and 15 The Open Mat individual rankings.
  • Both teams head into Wednesday's dual with a 2-0 league record - Iowa Central has outscored its opponents 89-18 while the Warriors have outscored the opposition 88-18.
  • Indian Hills is coming off a 37-13 victory over No. 6 Iowa Western and has also defeated No. 5 Carl Albert State (36-16) and Iowa Lakes (52-1) on the year.
  • Iowa Central has defeated NIACC (39-13) and Iowa Lakes (50-5) on the year.
  • In the first-ever dual meeting between the two programs, top-ranked Indian Hills scored a 34-20 win over then-No. 5 Iowa Central on January 25, 2023 in Ottumwa.

MEN'S NOTES

  • The Indian Hills men make the trek to Fort Dodge ranked No. 19 in the NJCAA national rankings, No. 12 in The Open Mat Team Tournament rankings, and No. 9 in The Open Mat Team Dual rankings with an overall record of 2-1 on the year.
  • Iowa Central is currently ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA poll, No. 8 in The Open Mat Team Tournament poll, and No. 6 in The Open Mat Team Dual rankings with a 2-0 dual record on the year.
  • Indian Hills boasts five individuals in The Open Mat rankings in their respecitve class and three in the NJCAA poll compared to Iowa Central's seven individuals in The Open Mat rankings and two in the NJCAA rankings.
  • The Warriors own a 2-1 dual record on the year, including a 1-1 league mark after a narrow 21-20 loss to No. 3 Iowa Western on November 15. The Warriors scored victories earlier in the season over Iowa Lakes (46-5) and No. 14 Carl Albert State (24-17).
  • Iowa Central has picked up two league victories - a 41-7 season opening win over NIACC and a 44-8 win at Iowa Lakes.

Both the men's and women's squads will head to the Doane Open in Crete, NE on December 2. The next dual for each squad is set for December 10, a home matchup against nonconference opponent Trinidad State College (CO) on December 10 at the Multi-Purpose Building.
