SIX WARRIORS EARN SPOT IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS - WEEK ONE

Centerville, IA – Six individuals have earned a spot in the first regular season National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling Poll for the Indian Hills Men's Wrestling squad, announced Thursday by the NJCAA Men's Wrestling Committee.

After earning three individual rankings in the preseason poll, the Warriors doubled its presence in the first regular season ranking.

Freshman Ansel Cervantes (Miami, FL/South Dade) surged in the 197lb weight class after a solid start to his collegiate career. Cervantes has opened the year with a 3-1 dual record, including a victory over the then-No. 1 nationally ranked wrestler Hunter Hall of Carl Albert State College (OK). Cervantes' lone loss of the year came to Iowa Western Community College's Luke MacDonald, currently ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA poll.

Sophomore Arojae Hart (Murphysboro, IL/Murphysboro) climbed two spots in the 133lb rankings after opening the year with a 2-0 dual record. Hart also scored a sixth-place showing at the Lindenwood Open.

Freshman Isaac Gibbs (Prosper, TX/Rock Hill), unranked in the preseason poll, jumped to the No. 8 spot in the 125lb weight class after impressive performances through the team's opening month of action. Gibbs picked up a conference dual win over Iowa Lakes Community College and has earned three place finishes at opens this year, including a runner-up finish at the Lindenwood Open and a third-place showing at the Luther Hill Invitational.

Jaquan East (Kokomo, IN/Kokomo) jumped into the national rankings in the first regular season poll, checking in at No. 9 in the 174lb division. East has posted a 4-0 dual record on the year, including three wins in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). East scored a 7-2 decision over Iowa Central Community College's Lawrence Rosario, the current No. 10 ranked wrestler at 174lbs. East also took home top honors at the Luther Hill Invitational on November 4.

Sophomore Peyton Asbury (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) checked in at No. 10 in the 165lb rankings following a pair of strong open showings while Darion Thompson (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) is ranked No. 10 after opening the year with a 2-0 dual record.
