Centerville, IA – No. 14 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Wrestling jumped out to a sizable lead early to run away for a nonconference victory over Trinidad State College (CO) on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors topped the Trojans 34-15 at the Multi-Purpose Building.
Indian Hills picked up five match wins on the day for its third dual victory of the year, improving to 3-2 overall with the win over the first-year program.
Justin Bradford (Murfreesboro, TN/Blackman) scored the first victory of the day with a 9-3 decision at 133lbs. The win was the sophomore's first dual victory of the season for the Warriors.
Arieh Hart (Anna, IL/Anna-Jonesboro) made his collegiate debut for the Warriors at 141lbs and made a statement. The freshman scored an 18-4 major decision for the win. With a 4-2 lead after the first period, Hart pulled away late in the second period to take an 11-3 advantage before closing on the third period 7-1.
No. 10 nationally ranked Peyton Asbury (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) dominated the 165lb match for the Warriors, scoring a 17-1 tech fall in the second period. The win was Asbury's second dual victory of the season for the Warriors.
Rodrick Love (Springfield, IL/McKendree) made his dual debut at the Multi-Purpose Building and rolled to a 24-4 tech fall in the 174lb match. Love closed out the match in the second period with a near fall to push the team lead to 29-6.
Ronald Butler (Homestead, FL/Miami Palmetto) earned a victory at 184lbs to cap the scoring for the Warriors with a 20-3 tech fall. Butler jumped out to a 9-2 lead after the first period and needed just 10 seconds into the third period for the win. Butler is now 2-0 on the year in duals for the Warriors.
Indian Hills will close out the first half of the regular season with a trip to Kansas City for the Avila Duals on December 16.
