2024 INDIAN HILLS WOMEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE
Ottumwa, IA – Anchored by three returning All-Region performers from a year ago, the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team is set to return to action for the 2024 campaign. Under second-year head coach Jon Hussak, the Warriors kick off the season August 23.
Following a berth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Soccer Midwest District Tournament last year, the Warriors return five members from last year's squad, including offensive threats Alexia Bru (Barcelona, Spain/Valld'Hebrón) and Maika Nchana (Barcelona, Spain/INS Torras I Bages), and goalkeeper Maria Melendez (Aragua, Venezuela/Aragua Estudiantil) who all earned postseason honors last year. Sophomores Lauren Tarbell (Oskaloosa, IA/Oskaloosa) and Rocío Criado (Madrid, Spain/North Cross School) bring back veteran leadership to this year's squad.
The 2024 slate proves to be a highly competitive schedule for the Warriors, a campaign that features eight programs that won at least 11 contests last year, five of which finished in the top-20 of the national rankings, and a pair of national tournament qualifiers. The Warriors will also take on six new opponents for the first time in program history.
The 2024 campaign kicks off with the annual IHCC Classic in Ottumwa on August 23. The Warriors will take on Illinois Central Community College at 3:00 PM in the season opener followed by a showdown at 11:00 AM on August 25 with perennial power Navarro College (TX), a team that advanced to last year's NJCAA DI Women's Soccer National Tournament and finished ninth in the national rankings.
Indian Hills will then take on a lengthy road trip that consists of eight matches in 21 days. The Warriors' road swing includes trips to Pensacola State College (FL) in Pensacola, FL on September 5, Hinds Community College (MS) in Raymond, MS on September 7, and matchups against Harford Community College (MD) and Motlow State Community College (TN) in Murfreesboro, TN on September 13 and September 15, respectively. The Warriors will also square off against in-state foes Southeastern Community College, Iowa Central Community College, and Iowa Lakes Community College during the haul.
The Warriors return home for a contest against Jefferson College (MO) on September 22 before heading to Council Bluffs, IA for their Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) opener against the defending national champions Iowa Western Community College Reivers.
Indian Hills will welcome Cisco College (TX) to Ottumwa on September 28 for the first all-time meeting between the programs.
The Warriors will close out the regular season with three consecutive matchups against teams that finished in the top-20 in the final national poll. Indian Hills will host Iowa Western on October 2 before taking on Western Wyoming Community College in a neutral site contest in Council Bluffs, IA on October 11. The regular season finale will be held at the IHCC Soccer Complex against district foe Lewis & Clark Community College (IL) on October 18.
The 2024 NJCAA DI Women's Soccer District Tournament is set to open up October 25 with the NJCAA DI Women's Soccer National Championship set to get underway November 17 in Wichita, KS.
