2022-23 NJCAA WOMEN'S WRESTLING RANKINGS (INDIVIDUAL) - WEEK 2
Centerville, IA – The No. 1 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Wrestling team boasts 18 individuals in the latest national rankings. At least one individual is ranked in each of the 11 national weight classes.
The 18 individuals are the most of any team in the nation, followed by 17 from Umpqua Community College (OR) and Iowa Western Community College. In addition, the 18 individuals are the most this season for the Warriors after placing 17 individuals in the inaugural poll on November 9. In total, seven individuals climbed in the rankings from the first poll of the year.
After an impressive start to the season, five individuals have claimed the top rank in their respective weight class in the second national poll. Freshman Dutchess King (St. Charles, MO/Central Methodist) climbed five spots to take over No. 1 in the 101lb weight class. Malachite Chunn (Jacksonville, NC/Jacksonville) held on to the top spot for the second consecutive poll in the 116lb weight class.
Sophomore Liannette Ortiz (Kissimmee, FL/Gateway) took over No. 1 in the 123lb weight class after opening the year at No. 2. Defending national champion Alondra Rosado Martinez (Carolina, Puerto Rico/Colegio Amarlieen) maintained the No. 1 rank at 136lbs.
After opening the year at No. 2 at 235lbs, freshman Eliana Bommarito (Brighton, MI/Hartland) ascended to No. 1 following a dominant start to the year. Bommarito is joined by teammates Karla Padilla Zepeda (South Weber, UT/North Ridge) at No. 2 and Brooke Burns (Wellington, KS/Wellington) at No. 4 in the 235lb class.
For the second consecutive national poll, the Warriors earned the No. 1 overall team rank.

The Warriors are back in action Friday afternoon at the Avila Duals for four matchups in Kansas City, MO.
