Timisoara, Romania – One of the most decorated athletes of all-time at Indian Hills Community College, former standout Eliana Bommarito continued to leave her mark on the international stage with another gold medal performance for the United States.

A May graduate of Indian Hills, Bommarito continued to dominate the Beach World Wrestling scene after capturing her fourth career Beach World Series gold medal over the weekend in Timisoara, Romania. No other American wrestler in the history of Beach World Wrestling has captured more than one Beach World Series gold medal.

Bommarito, who captured two gold medals during the 2023 Beach World Series, claimed her second gold medal of the summer on Sunday. Bommarito previously took gold in June's Beach World Series event in Saunt-Lareunt-Du-Var, France before dominating the field this past weekend in Romania.

In four matches throughout this weekend's event, Bommarito needed less than a minute in three of those contests to secure victory. On Sunday, Bommarito won her semifinal match 3-0 over Florentina Biru of Romania before defeating Aikaterina Ptisiava of Greece 3-0 in the championship bout.

Bommarito left her mark on Indian Hills and collegiate wrestling as a whole, capturing two individual national championships while leading the Warriors to back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Invitational Championships the past two seasons. Bommarito was named the 2023-24 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Female Student-Athlete of the Year and the 2024 National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
