Springboro, OH – The No. 5 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf team put together a remarkable third round on Monday to place second overall at the Wright State Invitational at the Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, OH. The Warriors were led by a runner-up finish from sophomore Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico).

Competing in the 12 team field as the lone junior college program amongst primarily NCAA DI squads, the Warriors shot a 12-under through the final 18 holes to climb the leader board and finish in second-place behind tournament host Wright State University. Indian Hills fired round scores of 279-288-272-839 with the team's final round proving to be the second-best round of any team in the field. The Warriors' mark of 13-under was five strokes ahead of third-place Ohio Dominican University.

Indian Hills has now posted nine top-10 team finishes in 10 events this year, including three top-two performances in the last four outings. The Warriors' third round score of 272 is the lowest of the season and the second-lowest over the last three seasons for the program.

Arellano Lamas, ranked No. 13 in the latest national polls, surged on the final day with a six-under, 65, tied for the lowest round in the 88-player field. The sophomore posted back-to-back rounds of 70 before firing a career-low round over the final 18 holes. Arellano Lamas' eight-under, 205 is also a new personal-best tournament effort on the course.

Freshman Carl Knauer (Stenungsund, Sweden/Nosnas) took home a fourth-place finish for the Warriors after firing a six-under 207, including back-to-back rounds of three-under for his second top-five finish of the year.

Freshman Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) tied for 16th overall to contribute to the team scoring for the Warriors, finishing the three-day event at one-under, including an opening round five-under.

Nathan Pouchoulon (Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Georges Duby) tied for 32nd overall with a 2-over after a dominant third round score of 66 while Jedd Thomas (Sydney, Australia/St. Paul's Catholic) tied for 41st overall with a 4-over, including a third round score of one-under.

Knauer led all players in the field with 17 birdies while Arellano Lamas tied for the second-most birdies with 15.

The Warriors will now turn their attention to postseason play with the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Central District Championship April 28-29 at Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, MO.
