Kansas City, KS – The Indian Hills Men's Golf team took home a runner-up finish at the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Central District Championship on Tuesday. The Warriors posted a 29-over, 893 to earn an automatic bid to the upcoming national championship.
The Warriors surged on the final day, posting the lowest team score through the final 18 holes. Indian Hills fired round scores of 305-290-298-983 to finish just seven strokes back of District champion Garden City Community College (KS). The Warriors finished eight strokes ahead of Garden City over the final two rounds of action.
Indian Hills was led by a pair of NJCAA All-District performers in sophomores Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico) and Nathan Pouchoulon (Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Georges Duby). Both individuals tied for sixth overall to land a spot on the All-District team.
Arellano positioned himself in the top group heading into the final round after a solid first two rounds on Monday afternoon. Pouchoulon climbed the leaderboard over the final two rounds, posting a 1-over for his third top-10 finish in five events this year. Arellano has now recorded seven top-10 finishes on the year.
Freshman Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) tied for 10th overall in the 46-player field with an 8-over while freshman Charlie Preston (Hampshire, United Kingdom/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) placed 12th overall with a 9-over to pace the Warriors.
With the automatic bid to the national tournament, the Warriors have now made 37 consecutive cuts to the NJCAA National Championship. The seven-time national champions will head to Sand Creek Station in Newton, KS, a course that has seen the Warriors capture three national championships, May 13-17.
