MEN'S WRESTLING CLIMBS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING TEAM RANKINGS - WEEK ONE

Centerville, IA – The Indian Hills Men's Wrestling team climbed five spots in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Wrestling poll, announced by the NJCAA Men's Wrestling Committee Thursday. The Warriors check in at No. 14 in the first regular season poll.

The Warriors, ranked No. 19 in the initial NJCAA Men's Wrestling Preseason Poll, earned 20 points in the first regular season poll to earn a tie with Southwest Michigan Community College at No. 14. The Warriors are one of four Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) teams in this week's national rankings, joining No. 3 Iowa Western Community College, No. 10 Iowa Central Community College, and No. 16 North Iowa Area Community College.

Along with the Warriors' team ranking, six individuals earned a spot in the individual NJCAA Men's Wrestling rankings, also announced Thursday.

The Warriors have opened up the season with a 2-2 dual record with wins over then-No. 14 Carl Albert State College (OK) and a 46-5 rout of Iowa Lakes Community College. The Warriors suffered narrow conference losses to Iowa Western, 21-20 and Iowa Central on the road, 25-21. The Warriors currently sit in third-place in the ICCAC and have scored the second-most team points on the year with 92.

Indian Hills returns to action this weekend with the annual Art Kraft Memorial Tournament in River Grove, IL on Saturday before returning home for a nonconference dual with Trinidad State College (CO) as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. The Indian Hills Women open up against the Trojans at 2:30 with the men to follow. All the action can be seen live on GoHillsTV.
