Kristin Mayson was hired to head the Indian Hills athletic training department in the spring of 2016. Kristin came to IHCC after working at both Ottumwa Regional Health Center and for the Ottumwa School District. At ORHC, she managed the facility's OB/GYN clinic that had five providers. She also served as the game-day athletic trainer for Ottumwa High School athletic events, providing immediate evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries for the OHS football, volleyball, boy's and girl's basketball and wrestling teams.
Prior to coming to Ottumwa, Kristin was the DME Coordinator at Ortho West, assisting an orthopedic/sports medicine doctor. She was involved in patient education, managed patient information, entered orders and scheduled patients for various referrals.
Kristin has also worked in other health care facilities, was the head athletic trainer for the Nebraska Danger Indoor Professional Football team, was employed as an admissions counselor at MacMurray College in Illinois and an enrollment specialist at Montana Tech.
She is a certified athletic trainer and a licensed athletic trainer in Iowa with American Red Cross certification.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, Kristin obtained a master’s of science degree in education from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.
